Massive Firing -- You Can't Do Dat to Brit!

UCLA Medical Center is terminating at least 13 staff members and suspending at least six others for looking at the confidential medical records of Britney Spears while she was hospitalized there.

The LA Times reports that in addition to these firings, at least six doctors will face disciplinary action for snooping into her computerized records at the hospital.

According to the Times, UCLA officials admitted this wasn't the first time Spears' privacy had been compromised. Several employees were caught snooping into her records in September 2005 after she gave birth to her first son, Sean Preston, at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center. A few of those employees were fired as well.

Spears was admitted to the hospital on January 31 -- after being placed on a "5150 hold" when it was determined she posed a danger to herself or others. She was released February 6.

2. Good, then maybe some of them can 'secretly' leak what they saw! I bet it was jaw dropping!

3. Right on. Finally. The shameless violations of HIPPA law must cease. It is not only with celebrities, it is with non-celebrity patients, too. Hospitals and doctors do not respect HIPAA or medical privacy.

4. I bet it says in those papers that she is really a MAN

6. At last someone being held accountable for doing something wrong. When are we going to start finding out who has been leaking Government secrets so we can try them for treason. And then put them before a firing squad. These bozos would sell out their own mothers to get power and money. It's bad enough when they do it to celerties, much less our own country.

8. GOOD....may they lose any and all pension benefits, too! It is none of the public's business about details of the birth of her children nor her psychiatric holds. Finally, a California corporation or agency run by "professionals"!

9. If this happened to a "normal" person you know that these employees would not have been fired. It just because it's Brittney Spears.. rediculous! They didn't leak anything to the media so I do not see the big deal. They work at a hospital where people go to get treated. They are nurses and doctors..... to me it seems to be so BLOWN out of proportion!

10. I want pictures of those who were fired. Just like you exploited Britney you should exploit those who helped you do it.

11. Hmmm, 13 fired, 6 suspended, all "staff members"... but DOCTORS who snooped are only getting "disciplinary action"? Shouldn't doctors be held to the same standards as the others, considering they also broke the law?

12. I really hope none of her information leaks! It's no one business what personal issues are going on with her! Any decent soul, weather you love her, like her, or hate her would just wish the girl well. And that gose for any celebrity or human being going through hard times.

15. Wonder if they were hired from the hospital that had the Clooney records peek. That staff got suspensions/fired/whatever.

As fun as it would be to see both, the line of privacy invasion must end somewhere...
