46. First of all, Smith is not "low-IQ" as someone said. He *turned down* a scholarship to MIT - no not an athletic scholarship, but an *academic* one.

Having said that, I agree that he should not have said what he did. My mother-in-law is a Nazi death camp survivor, and to give Hitler *any* type of praise is absurd to the point of disbelief. He was an irretrievably evil, megalomaniacal demon-on-Earth.

I mean it's not like the good ol white folk woke up one morning and said I think I'll make black people slaves today. 51. Have any of you actually read what Will Smith said? He didn't say that Hitler wasn't bad--he said Hitler himself probably didn't think he was bad--which is probably true. Somewhere in Hitler's twisted, sick little mind, he thought what he was doing was good. The point of the comment is that we have to be vigilant about our own perceptions of good and bad because evil people can rationalize their behavior. Sheesh, this hyper-sensitivity to any perceived slight has really gotten out of hand. So now it is verboten to say anything about Christians, Hitler, Jews, Christmas, etc,, etc. Maybe it's time we all just got over ourselves!

57. Reread exactly what Will said and stop adding your own interpretation to it. He only suggested that sicko Hitler was doing what he thought was right. I don't see him condoning it or praising it. I have to agree very much with #23...Jews get over it! If you were at all sympathetic you wouldn't be concerned with only your race but also the slavery of the blacks.

Now I have a question...why haven't the Jews learned anything from all this and stopped eating meat that is farm factory raised? Dosen't that hit close to home? Why is their pain so important but not others? At what point have they progressed to include others who have suffered the same? I am asking not just pointing fingers.

59. The fact that people are getting offended by this proves that we are overly sensitive as a society. I think this is largely due to the fact that the sensationalized media encourages people to get up in arms about things because that is what garners ratings.
People need to learn to read AND comprehend these statements when they are said instead of picking out a few words like "Hitler" and "good" and then immediately getting offended. When you start spouting off about how Will Smith is advocating the nazi movement or that he thinks Hitler was a good guy you only end up looking incredibly stupid. I know that your first reaction is to want to be offended because it has been ingrained into you, but try thinking a bit beforehand.
