Casualty of Don? Deirdre Imus Ditches Book Tour

This won't be a pleasant week in the Imus household.

TMZ has learned that Deirdre Imus, wife of Don, has bailed out of two high-profile live appearances on "The View" and "The Martha Stewart Show," in the wake of Don's "nappy-headed ho" slur that has caused a national furor.

In fact, the whole book tour's been nixed.

A rep for Deirdre's publisher, Simon & Schuster, says that the entire promotional tour for "Green This! Volume One: Greening Your Cleaning," which was timed to coincide with the book's debut yesterday, has been postponed indefinitely. "Because of the pressure that the Imus family has been under," says the rep, "family is her first priority at this time."

This morning, several major advertisers pulled their ad dollars from the Imus show, and he's been suspended for two weeks from CBS Radio and MSNBC for his unseemly remarks about the Rutgers University women's basketball team.

106. Why is it that CNN continually shows just the black girls on the Rutgers BB team? Were the white girls not as much a media story?

108. Two big scam artists, deirdre and her hubby. That camp for Sick children is a thinly veiled tax shelter which abuses charitable tax hedges for their own personal use. He is a self-promoting thug. His program, as well as others like it, promote a rudeness and insensitivity of language that is pervasive in our culture. I have heard women call other women "hoes and bitches". He was paid to insult, incite, and sling his schlock in the airways. "Big Hat; No Cattle".

110. There is so much on the air waves being policed by people today that if you want to say what ever the f**k you want, you have go to satellite radio. Maybe there should be a station that should allow anyone and it could be annomous to air their greviences and or opinions on satellite radio and it's out in the open. S**t, it's supposed to be a country of free speech. I can think of far worse things that have come up by Howard Stern and he is on the airwaves, providing you pay for it. I am personally pulling a boycott on any Procter & Gamble product out there. Use a Colgate or a Unilever product instead. People can take a stand for the alternative approach. I hope Don Imus lands on his feet, because the good that he does outweighs the bad.

111. Wait,............ I dont hear anything......... no apology from Sharpton for lynching those innocent boys from Duke accused of being gang rapists against a BLACK WOMAN. THEY HAVE BEEN DECLARED INNOCENT AND SHE A LIAR!! How could he apologize for a public hanging that he was leading once again, when he's so busy hanging Don Imus for a mere slip while trying to be funny. Wrong yes, but he has bent over backwards to apologize, I wish someone would tell Sharpton to keep his own brothers in line when they disgrace their own kind and the women they are so busy defending now, only because it's a white man that said it, is it an issue!! Give me a break!!! White america better wake up because they are steam rolling over the most ridiculous trivial matters. Im all for ending racisim but let's be real here. Let them help their brother rise up from poverty, gangs and drugs. Stop beating up on the white people, you are no longer oppressed, other than by your own doing.

A man who gives so much to people of all colors is being persecuted and everything good he has done, which is more than most people can dream of, is being tossed away. Do you think he asks what the skin color is of the sick kid's that come to his rance???? I dont think anyone believes that!!! So why is an apology not enough?????

112. Two concerns...how many African American kids have Imus had at his ranch and how were they treated.? Secondly, how have his views affected his very bright child, Wyatt and his very articulate and much younger wife?

113. Don Imus apologized to the girls and to the people of America. Its interesting Rev. All Sharpton calling fire and brimstone on Imus and he calls himself a man of God. The same goes for Jesse Jackson who runs around using Christianity as a front. He got caught cheating on his wife. I think both of them were caught with women besides their wives. I think these guys will do anything to be in the spotlight. They are the Don King of the christian world.

115. TMZ why are you only posting comments that are in suport of Imus?

116. I totally agree with the blogger who insisted that Imus' wife would only have a book deal because of her husband's money and fame, which she evidently married him for. I mean look at him and how old and hideous he looks, then look at her. Fame and fortune were the two main reasons for her being with this cowboy hat wearing, prune faced racist and sexist hyena. What woman in her right mind would marry such a downright poumpous asshole who obviously is a male shovenistic pig. If he has no respect for these women, then he has no respect for all women. I say good riddens to Mr. I(mess) and down the tubes for his wife's new book. When you marry for money honey, there is going to be some harsch consequences. It's never a free ticket, at times you gotta pay the price! Here's you time to pay up. (Sorry).
