"A.I." Finalists Fuming Over "Sanjaya Situation"

While most of the country may have fallen in love with "American Idol" wannabe Sanjaya Malakar, there is one group that is finding his growing popularity a tad irritating -- his fellow "A.I." contestants!

An inside source revealed exclusively to TMZ that some of the remaining "Idol" hopefuls are annoyed that the vocally-challenged 17-year-old continues to advance, while other "more talented" singers get sent home. We're told the contestants are not-so-much mad at Sanjaya, but at the situation, which finds websites like votefortheworst.com and satellite radio host Howard Stern urging fans to keep Sanjaya in -- simply as a joke.

We're told the "Idols" don't find it funny, since it's their future being toyed with. Our source adds that the contestants find it troublesome that they all work so hard to pick the right song and rehearse each week, but it appears that all Sanjaya really has to do to move forward is to show up wearing a scrunchie.

TMZ contacted an "Idol" rep, who had no comment.

This is absolutely hilarious and don't tell me it isn't - thank you. For those of you who think this is serious and are annoyed with the people voting for Sanjaya, well..... I am laughing at you to to the point that my belly hurts.

You also have to love the free publicity that Stern is generating from this.

If anyone objects to my voting / dialing machine - I will cast 15,000 votes instead of 10,000.

And the person who suggested suing H.S. - that is funny and ignorant.

50. That kid should know he has no talent and give it up. He is being made fun of and he has to know it. If I were in his shoes I would say ok enough is enough and get out by requesting to go home. Save face Sanjuia and give it up. You will never sell any albums.

52. I don't have much faith in your "sources". That's sort of like saying that the National Enquirer has learned from it's "sources"- when we all know they make up half the crap they print. The other contestants are in it to win. I doubt they like anyone else who gets more votes than they do. The show will go on. Noone has stopped watching because of Sanjaya. The world is not coming to an end.

55. It's AI'S FAULT ...They want you to call in. So, one person can call and call and call.
It is not that great of a show, and some of the past winners, as the Hick, Taylor was as stupid as they come, and he won. Clay was better than "whoever" was the fat on that won. Just keep calling and vote the "little queen" a winner. Simon said he would quit if he won. We don't need stupid queenie, closet case Simon either.

56. Get a life you people. The show is a joke, so let him win. There is NO talent on there anyway. So don't bitc- like you are doing. It is a stupid show, and a real bummer on the voiting scale. They should have better judges also, and only they vote. Rememer, it was those three judges that put him on the show. His sister was better. So screw what Simon said. He is just a close case queen himself.

57. Your all jealous. He is getting more attention than anyone. The show sucks, so it is a Publicity scam. You think Pauls, The Dog, and Queenie Simon know talent? No way.
Hope he wins and shows the world how stupid the show is. No talent this year anyway.

58. I think the judges will look more carefully next year as to who is put through to Hollywood. I am sure Sanjaya had a good voice (compared to many who auditioned) but not as good as the 24 who made it to Hollywood. How really horrible, that one ugly man (Howard Stern)can try to destroy a good American Family show. This is a chance for someone with talent to be recognized and have a dream come true. Why doesn't he (Stern) do this to one of the peverted shows he is in or watches. He makes me sick!!! It is not Sanjayas fault he is still in the top 10 - We all need to vote for the best - and show all of the idiots in this world that great will prevail!!!

60. They shouldn't worry, I mean it's never the winners that do good anyway look at Chris Daughtry. This is a blessing in disguise, at least they won't have to worry about being under contract ya da ya da ya da before they can sign on to a real lable. They should just ride this out and sign on to the record lable that offers them the ost and let Sanjaya compete with Hicks on who gets worst album of the year.
