Brad & Leo Battle Over Credit Card Debt

TMZ has exclusively learned that Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio are fighting over the rights to the same documentary film.

Sources tell TMZ that Pitt's Plan B production company is interested in turning James Scurlock's critically acclaimed documentary expose of America's obsession with credit card debt, "Maxed Out," into a feature film with a big Hollywood cast, in the vein of "Fast Food Nation." A well-placed TMZ source says that a Plan B rep contacted Scurlock's agent expressing how Pitt really enjoyed the docu's companion book, 'Maxed Out: Hard Times, Easy Credit and the Era of Predatory Lenders.'

TMZ has learned that shortly after Plan B's call, Scurlock's reps were contacted by DiCaprio's production shingle, Appian Way Productions, who revealed the same interest in the documentary. Hunky see, hunky do!

We're told neither production company has finalized any deals for the film's rights, but it could turn into Pitt's biggest brawl since "Troy."

"Maxed Out" is playing in select cities now.

A rep for DiCaprio told TMZ, "This story is bull. It sounds like someone is creating a bidding war to try and make a buck."

A rep for Plan B could not be reached.

33. I like Leo...!
When Leo wants to date someone else he breaks up with his girlfriend. When Brad wants to date someone else he sneaks around on his wife like a scared little girl. Everyone has the right to date anyone that will have them...just break up with the person you are with first...what goes around comes around...looking forward to your next breakup Brad..have fun with the child support...! WHEW....I'd love to be your attorney.

34.
LEONARDO DI CAPRIO IS THIS GENERATIONS "BRANDO". THERE IS NO
COMPETITION BETWEEN THE TWO ( PITT AND DI CAPRIO) BECAUSE ONE
IS ALL CLASS AND THE OTHER IS NOT. LEONARDO IS SUAVE, COOL ,
COLLECTED, INTELLIGENT, SHY, MULTI-TALENTED. HE TRULY THINKS
DEEPLY ON ANY SUBJECT OR PROJECT BEFORE HE LENDS HIS NAME TO
IT. AND HE CONDUCTS HIMSELF WITH HONOR. HE'S A BRILLIANT ACTOR
WHO WILL ONLY GET BETTER AS HE MATURES. HE'S MY BEST ACTOR
CRUSH FOREVER.

35. I like Brad....I like Leo....whoever wins that's great.
Brad honey...if I were you I would be thinking real hard about adopting/giving your name to anymore of Angie's collection. Statistics show she doesn't stick with one man to long, it depends who her next co-star will be, and it also doesn't matter if he's married or taken already, you know? God help you if it's George Clooney or someone like him. You'll be out of the picture faster than her next adoption...except for child support of course. I get the feeling your a decent guy who REALLY does care for kids (even your own!) and you won't mind paying the child support, but have you ever ask yourself when is enough...enough?? Since Shiloh's birth, how many times has Angie acually HELD her? If we the public go by what we see...I believe it's been what 2 or 3 times?? The rest of the pictures show you...Brad holding her. She is just beautiful, NOT the blob as Angie describes her. Angie is sickening as a mother to me. She goes overboard with all the attention to the adopted children, but when it comes to her own flesh and blood it's like Shiloh doesn't need it from her. In the future Angie may find her relationship with Shiloh isn't going to be any better than Angie's is with her own father. It'll serve her right...but will she REALLY care I wonder?? You can do better Brad. Yes, Angie's beautiful but that's only skin deep. I think if people really knew her...she wouldn't be so pretty on the inside.
I say...grab Shiloh...get back with Jen. I think Jen would be a great mother for your little girl. She would know and learn what a REAL mother's love is then.

36. I just cannot fathom the hate & bigotry that so many people spew on here. Are you that angry, or are you just feeling so inferior that this is the way you try to act big & important & tough. People, we need to stop spouting so much nastiness & hatefulness. We need to treat others with respect & civility.

Considering the tragedy at VA Tech today, stop and be thankful for your life & for your loved ones. There is NO need to be so hateful toward others.... especially toward people you really don't even know.

Treat others as you would want to be treated.

37. I think it's admirable that these two actors want to be part of this documentary, both show signs in their personal life that they do care about others in the world. Why not do it together, why does there have to be a winner and a loser. Also, There is nothing wrong with adopting children who may not otherwise have much of a life, I would do the same if I could. I admire them for caring enough! Somebody surely should! As far as Leo goes, I feel that he is truly the best actor of our time! I also admire him very much for his efforts in getting important messages out there in hopes that people will pay attention! He definitely has qualities that I wish more people had. He's a man of substance! Very Impressive!
