Anna Nicole Smith was taking Topamax, a prescription drug for migraine headache treatment, according to Howard K. Stern, under questioning from Judge Larry Seidlin. She was also taking medication for depression from several different doctors.
"Is this really necessary?" asked Stern, objecting to the line of questioning.

1. what in the world does a seizure medication that used to treat migranes have to do with this? Yes, it says you shouldn't take while pregnant since it crosses the placenta, but come on. They should probably focus on other drugs he was enabling her to take....

I work in a neurology unit at a hospital, and routinely give Topamax and NO ONE acts like THAT on Topamax.......morphine, methadone, dilaudid perhaps, but NOT Topamax!

8. I used to take Topamax for migraines. It helps the brain "relax". One of the side effects is weight loss and no it does not make you strung out!

Anna went to rehab way before Howard came into the picture Anna took prescription drugs not howard and he did not put a gun to her head to take them this a result of all the abuse fro her mother she did not want to deal with the reality that her mom did not cared about her ,she wanted to be loved and all the lawsuits that she had to deal with please is no wonder she was in that situation.hello the person with the addiction has to want the help.look what the pop princess is doing now.

10. coward stern as a lawyer (so called) you should know that every single one of these questions are vital. and to try and tell a judge that she always spoke like that (impaired sounding) is just ignorant even the child (riley) that they were caring for at the time the footage was shot, knew there was something wrong with her. so my question is what the hell was she doing before the tape was rolling to make that child leave the room and tell coward that "anna has lost her mind" kids may say the darndest things? but they tell it like it is!

12. I have been on topamax for over two years for migraines. It DOES NOT make you loopy. I take it 2x a day, I have 3 kids, and work a job, and run a household. GIVE ME A BREAK!!! He's really pulling stuff out of his ass now.
He doesn't even show emotion when he talks about anna, thats crazy.

13. If Anna was taking Topamax, then the role of Slim-Fast in her weight lost should come under greater scutiny. Topamax often causes severe weight loss because it is a powerful appetite suppressant.

14. I take Topamax. It works very well for me. The tape of ANS is very much like I was on high doseages of Neurontin and a couple of other anti-seizure medications. I'm not saying she wasn't high on methadone or something else, but every person reacts differently to medications.
There are drawings I did while on one medication that were terrifying, as well as conversations I had that were dippy as hell.

Topamax is also used for:
Adjunctive treatment for adults with Bipolar Disorder
and Adjunctive treatment of children and adolescents with Bipolar Disorder. so when used with other meds it tests well.
In Monotherapy for Bipolar Disorder, and another study here it's not that great used by itself for random bipolar patients, but more about that in the comments section.
Cluster headaches. Although from that study and some case histories it looks like you want to try the standard treatments first. Topamax will do its usual thing of working great for half the people and really messing up the other half.
Eating Disorders. See also the abstracts for these two more recent studies here and here, both of which confirm the first.
Vanity Dieting, a.k.a. Topamax for weight loss when you're not mentally interesting, where it failed utterly in the two clinical trials for dieting and it continues to mess people up to use it for dieting purposes.
Fibromyalgia - anecdotal evidence only. I don't have enough to tell you one way or the other.
Depression (when used for obesity).
PTSD.
Alcoholism.
Sleep Disorders, including combined sleep-eating disorders.
Autism, mostly anecdotal evidence only, including mine, and usually dealing with sensory integration. So don't force it down your kids' throats. It's an adult thing. Either it helps deal with sensory integration or it doesn't.
Sure sounds like Anna to me...so...it was the Topamax, Baby! and not the trimspa.
