Celebrity Pay Dirt
Halle Warns the Help: Don't Speak to Me!

Money is no object to Halle Berry, but meaningless chatter, on the other hand, pisses her off.

TMZ has learned that an Orange County painting company has been called to spruce up cabinets in Halle Berry's Los Angeles home, which the Oscar winner has been remodeling for over a year. The company has been asked to merely stain the existing wood cabinets in the kitchen ... with a staggering $57,000 price tag!

The contract between the actress and all those doing work on her property has a few interesting clauses: First, any worker is prohibited to approach Berry while in the home or on the premises. Second, no one is allowed to speak to the A-list Miss B at any time. Finally, the only approved interaction is if Halle speaks to you, then you may answer Her Fineness.

When you're getting 57 large to stain kitchen cabinets, one keeps one's mouth shut.

91. Halle Berry thinks she is the center of the Miss Universe world. What a attitude of selfishness that gives celebs a bad name.

92. That is the "mahogany" coming out in her.

93. I agree w/ Halle. Come on, like we have time to sit there and entertain them while they do their jobs. They're getting paid to be there, and Halle being high profile, she starts getting friendly w/ them, next thing you know, she's getting sued for something.

94. This crazy whore has a lot of nerve, it's no wonder she can't keep a man. She needs to remember that the same people who are working for her are seeing her movies and paying for her funky ass to be able to pay $57,000 to have her sh*t stained. People need to stop catering to these bitchy ass so called celebs and when they ask not to have their pictures taken or say that they don't want to sign autographs we need to give them what they are asking for and stop doing the sh*t for good. Then I bet Halle and all of the other winny ass celebs will learn to appreciate the sh*t God has given them.

95. I wonder if she forbade the two victims she hit with her car (and ran) to speak to her, too. I don't think she has anything to worry about: They probably wouldn't recognize her anyway.

96. If this is true..If...I hate when celeb's think they are too special to have you look at them or speak to them...Nobody and I mean Nobody is better than anyone else..I think when someone does this, they actually have LOW self esteem..to have to "Act" like they are more special then they are!

97. Halle and her "WHITE WASHED" A** NEEDS TO QUIT!!!

Posted at 1:24AM on Jan 20th 2007 by Halle-Please!

98. Oh, Puleeeeze! She is getting too full of herself. Jamie Foxx just pulled the "Don't you know who I am?" crap to get preferential treatment. Fame is a disease....it seems to swell the head. These people are only well-known, not well-adjusted.

99. Stop being ridiculous! If I were her I wouldn't want people working on my house bugging me for autographs, hawking scripts or demos, or otherwise trying to make the most of their 15 minutes of being in my house. I think it makes perfect sense. It doesn't necessarily mean that she thinks she's better than anyone. I bet even though they can't talk to her, she is still polite and civil.

100. The only reason I happened upon this STORY is because my husband and sons are watching " Men action films."
I am from LosAngeles and I worked for a time in Beverly Hills at a store that was frequented by celebreties and the very rich. One had to have an invitation to shop there. Most of these people were so nice and friendly. Very FEW a**holes to deal with. If you have never seen what it is like to be a beautiful woman, shut the he@# up! I do not blame any well known person for doing that with a contract.
Could you imagine what it is like to have people want to talk to you all of the time. Yes the job they have puts them out there in the public eye, but what an exhausting task to have to talk to that many people. I have moved from my home town to the peaceful rurals and I still see that my wonderful doctor and his wife who is a nurse cannot even go in to the local grocery store without a thousand questions. Coluld you imagine that?
By the way, there was a movie filmed in our small rural town and the people who worked on it were very nice and polite. At the time I was newly divorced and worked at a laundromat where I washed their laundry and the wer not rude and stuck-up. Money doesn't make a person bad! WAY BLESSED SINCE THEN

101. I met Halle Berry in 1995 on the set of Bulworth. She did talk to us "extras" for quite a while during the couple weeks I was on set. In fact she was a lot more humble than the old, wrinkled up, pill-popping Warren Beatty. He was a JERK.

Maybe Halle just doesn't want to end up on TMZ.com

102.
I was mad first, then I thought about it. You can imagine how starstruck these workers can get especially men around her. I don't think shes wrong if its true. She has assistants so if they have a question, ask them. I still love you Halle. Plus 57K ? That lady can state whatever she wants, within reason, "don't chatter with me just do your job", is reasonable I think."

105. did anyone ever think this clause may be for her own protection? trying to avoid a would be stalker situation perhaps? I think if this is true then there is probably a little more to it than her just being "snobbish"....
